Arguably the most vital female in all of his plays, Shakespeare bestowed Lady Macbeth with qualities that were commonplace, often admired, in his male characters. She was ambitious, hungry for power, deceitful and passionate. Her cries to be ‘unsexed’, to have any ladylike tendencies removed so the story can take a dark and bloody turn could not have made Shakespeare’s intentions any clearer.
Our book themed candle is a mysterious blend of masculine amber and musk, exotic spice notes of saffron and oudh together with feminine florals, rose and jasmine and is inspired by Lady Macbeth’s memorable line that ‘all the perfumes of Arabia will not sweeten this little hand’ following the bloody murder of her husband’s cousin, King Duncan. This scent is robust, warm and exotic.
This most fragrant candle is hand poured in the UK using vegan wax and would make a unique gift for book lovers, fans of Lady Macbeth and Shakespeare and for anyone who is inspired by stories.
180ml candle - 30+ hours burning time
PLEASE NOTE: We are transitioning from wooden wicks to eco cotton wicks - your candles may have either of those wick options.

Caring For Your Candle
The first time you light your candle, let it burn until the wax melts to the edge of the glass jar as this will prevent tunnelling. This could be anywhere between two to four hours.
Caution: the glass jar may become hot to touch.
Pinch the cooled, burned end of the wick or trim wick to 5mm before you re-light your candle.
Please wash and reuse your jar.
