This rags to riches and back again to rags tale is classic Dickens. No-one wrote a better Victorian novel, created memorable characters and keenly observed the social climate of the day.
With our Great Expectations book candle, we are transported back to the old libraries and wooden drawing rooms of that age with a humble elegance that even Dickens himself would write home about. This fragrant literary candle is woody with teakwood with some softer floral notes of honeysuckle.

Caring For Your Candle
The first time you light your candle, let it burn until the wax melts to the edge of the glass jar as this will prevent tunnelling. This could be anywhere between two to four hours. Caution: the glass jar may become hot to touch.
Pinch the cooled, burned end of the wooden wick or trim wick to 5mm before you re-light your candle.
Please wash and reuse your jar.

Our wax is a vegan wax, an eco blend of coconut and rapeseed and you'll notice that our wicks are wooden. We've been deliberate about our choices, opting for an easily renewable wax that burns cleanly, a sustainable wooden wick and oils that are free from phthalates.
